"I realized up there that our planet is not infinite. It’s fragile." —Alan Shepard, first American in spaceThis "Blue Marble" photo, taken by the Apollo 17 crew in Dec 1972, is one of the most widely distributed photos in history and a symbol of a worldwide movement. #EarthDay

Today we celebrate the work of Bill Taub, NASA's first senior photographer, who creatively captured quintessential moments in America's space history. Taub's career with the agency began in 1942 and spanned prolific 33 years. #WorldPhotographyDay
One of Taub's career highlights was covering the 45-day #Apollo11 world goodwill tour visiting 29 cities in 24 countries. He shot nearly 200 rolls of film. Read his enthralling oral history: https://go.nasa.gov/46QjvlG
Happy Birthday to Axiom Space! We've spent eight years pushing the boundaries of science & tech, orchestrating four private astronaut missions, developing the next-gen spacesuit, and constructing the world's first commercial space station. We’re excited for the future as we continue #BuildingForBeyond!
Axiom Space was recently awarded $57.5 million from NASA to make this 4G/LTE network modification to the lunar spacesuit for the Artemis III mission, building upon its first Artemis task order in 2022, valued at $228 million.
🎥 Vega joined the @ESA_transport family of launch vehicles at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana in 2012. Tonight's launch will be the last for #Vega, it is being replaced by Vega-C. Let's have a look at this rocket's history! 🔗https://esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Videos/2024/08/Vega_for_ESA_the_story
Crawl down memory lane 💭NASA’s crawler-transporter 2 has supported many eras of spaceflight, traveling between its parksite, launch pads, and the Vehicle Assembly Building. Today, the crawler traveled its 2,500th mile! 🗺️ For reference, 2,500 miles is approximately the driving distance from the @NASAArtemis launch site, Launch Complex 39B at @NASAKennedy in Florida, to the base for Artemis recovery operations, Naval Base San Diego in California.
Odometer reading: 2500Congratulations on 2,500 miles (>4,000 km) crawler-transporter 2! Not too bad for a 59 year old.
