Spojrzenie na StarHoppera przed pierwszym podskokiem / Credits - SpaceXDwudziestego szóstego lipca nastąpił pierwszy podskok StarHoppera firmy SpaceX.
Od kilku miesięcy firma SpaceX prowadzi prace nad prototypem statku kosmicznego StarShip. Prototyp otrzymał nazwę “StarHopper”. SpaceX prowadzi prace na terenie należącym do spółki w Boca Chica w południowym Teksasie.
Siedemnastego lipca SpaceX przeprowadził test silnika Raptor. Tydzień później nastąpił pierwszy podskok StarHoppera. Poniższe nagranie prezentuje ten podskok. Pojazd wzniósł się na planowane 20 metrów.

Another Starhopper test flight, this time to an altitude of nearly 660 feet (200 meters), is planned in a week or two, Musk said.
SpaceX engineers working on competing teams at Boca Chica and in Cocoa, Florida, are building higher-fidelity versions of the Starship vehicle for higher-altitude, higher-speed test flights, which Musk projected could be ready for takeoff in two or three months.
Future Starship test flights from Florida are expected to take off from launch pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, a former Apollo and space shuttle launch pad now leased by SpaceX. (...)

Neither he nor SpaceX released additional information about the flight, including details about the performance of the vehicle versus expectations. (...)
Starhopper is an initial prototype of the company’s Starship next-generation reusable launch system. In addition to Starhopper, intended for low-altitude test flights, the company is building “Mark 1” prototypes of Starship both at its South Texas facility as well as in Cocoa, Florida. Those prototypes
will start flying as soon as two to three months from now, Musk said July 19, with the potential for orbital test flights a few months after that. (...)
