NASA zawarła umowę ze SpaceX i Blue Origin na dostarczenie systemów lądowania, które zabiorą astronautów na powierzchnię Księżyca. Agencja zwróciła się również do obu firm o opracowanie towarowych wersji ich lądowników, które będą używane w misji Artemis VII.

WASHINGTON — Lithuania has become the 40th nation to sign the Artemis Accords outlining best practices for responsible space exploration.

During a May 15 ceremony in Vilnius, Aušrinė Armonaitė, Lithuania’s minister of economy and innovation, signed the accords in the presence of Kara C. McDonald, U.S. ambassador to the country. (...)

Lithuania is the seventh nation to sign the Accords so far this year, six of which are in Europe. Forty countries have signed the Artemis Accords since the document was unveiled in 2020. (...)

“As the number keeps growing, there’s more and more interest,” said Valda Vikmanis-Keller, director of the Office of Space Affairs at the State Department, at the Meridian Space Diplomacy Forum April 30. “Countries are looking around and realizing that their neighbors, other international partners, have signed, and I think there’s a growing curiosity.” (...)

WASHINGTON — Peru and Slovakia signed the Artemis Accords outlining best practices for responsible space exploration, bringing the number of countries who have signed to 42.

In separate ceremonies at NASA Headquarters May 30, Peru’s foreign minster, Javier González-Olaechea, and Tomáš Drucker, Slovakia’s minister of education, research, development and youth, signed the Artemis Accords alongside NASA and U.S. State Department officials.

WASHINGTON — Armenia signed the Artemis Accords regarding safe and responsible space exploration June 12, the tenth country to do so this year.

(...) Interest in the Artemis Accords has outpaced that in the China-led International Lunar Research Station (ILRS). Serbia joined ILRS in May, the 11th country to do so. Other nations that are part of ILRS are Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Egypt, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Thailand and Venezuela.

To date, no nations have both joined ILRS and signed the Artemis Accords, although U.S. officials say there is nothing on their side that would prevent a country from being part of both. (...)

Budżet NASA na rok 2025  stwarza problemy programu Artemis. Niedobory budżetowe zagrażają zakłóceniem nadchodzących misji i harmonogramów.

NASA nadal mierzy się ze znacznym wzrostem kosztów i opóźnieniami w harmonogramie, ponieważ rozwija potężniejszą wersję swojej rakiety nośnej Space Launch System, znanej jako Block 1B.

Artemis IV będzie pierwszym lotem potężniejszej rakiety nośnej NASA — Space Launch System Block 1B. Pewnie Boeing specjalnie to robi, aby anulować cały program SLS+Orion Nawet Senat zaczyna się niecierpliwić w sprawie kosztów SLS. Komisja jest zaniepokojona faktem przekroczenia kosztów flagowych misji ,anulowaniem coraz większej liczby programów ze względu na kurczący budżet i NASA musi rozważyć możliwość użycia wystrzelenia komercyjnego czyli użycia Starshipa lub New Glenn.

Kolejny przerażający raport o programie Artemis!

NASA opracowuje drugą mobilną wieżę (ML-2) do obsługi większych wariantów Space Launch System. NASA szacuje, że ML-2 będzie kosztować 1,8 miliarda dolarów, ponad trzy razy więcej niż planowano, pomimo wysiłków na rzecz poprawy wydajności projektu. „Nasze prognozy wskazują, że całkowity koszt może osiągnąć 2,7 miliarda dolarów do czasu, gdy Bechtel dostarczy ML-2 NASA”.
