A rare sight indeed.Today in 2012, the people of Los Angeles gathered to watch Space Shuttle Endeavour being towed through the streets of Inglewood, California. It was towed 12 miles from LAX to its new home at @casciencecenter.

Discovery's debut 📸40 years ago today, Space Shuttle Discovery's rollout ceremony was held at Rockwell International's Palmdale facility. The crew of Discovery's upcoming first mission, STS-41D, were in attendance, along with other officials and dignitaries.
NASA assigns 14 astronauts to 4 'end-of-year flights' (STS-51L, -61C -61D & -61E) OTD in 1985. Named to STS-51L were Dick Scobee, Mike Smith, Judy Resnik & Ellison Onizuka. Brewster Shaw's original 51L crew was reassigned to a yet "unspecified mission", which became STS-61B.
