Jeżeli Chang'e 5 się powiedzie, Chiny przeprowadzą drugą misję typu sample return z lądowaniem w rejonie biegunów lub na niewidocznej stronie Księżyca. Do komunikacji z Ziemią posłuży satelita Quequiao. Do projektu Chińczycy zapraszają partnerów międzynarodowych:

Czyli podsumowując CH-6 lądowałby w rejonie CH-4.
Rosyjski program kosmiczny to dziś strzelanie rakietami w martwe obiekty na orbicie.

China Focus: China opens Chang'e-6 mission for international payloads
Source: Xinhua| 2019-04-18 23:04:36|Editor: xuxin

BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- China announced the cooperation plan for its future Chang'e-6 mission, offering to carry a total of 20 kg of solicited payloads, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA) on Thursday.

The orbiter and lander of the Chang'e-6 mission will each reserve 10 kg for payloads, which will be selected from both domestic colleges, universities, private enterprises and foreign scientific research institutions, said Liu Jizhong, director of the China Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Center of the CNSA, at a press conference.

China is expected to launch the Chang'e-5 probe by the end of this year to bring moon samples back to Earth.

As the backup of the Chang'e-5 mission, the Chang'e-6 mission will also collect lunar samples automatically for comprehensive analysis and research, Liu said.

Its launch time and landing site will depend on the performance of the Chang'e-5 mission, he explained.

According to Liu, the Chang'e-6 probe will be comprised of an orbiter, a lander, an ascender and a return capsule.

It will enter the Earth-moon transfer orbit, slow near the moon to enter the lunar orbit and descend and land on a preset area on the moon.

After collecting lunar samples, the ascender will rise from the lunar surface for rendezvous and docking with the orbiter flying around the moon. Then the return capsule will fly back to Earth via the moon-Earth transfer orbit, reenter the atmosphere, land and be retrieved.

At the conference, Liu pointed out the specific positions reserved on the lander and orbiter for scientific payloads.

The deadline for applying to join the cooperation plan is Aug. 31, 2019.

"China has always valued exchanges and cooperation with its international counterparts while promoting deep space exploration and scientific and technological innovation," said Zhang Kejian, head of the CNSA.

China has signed cooperation framework agreements with multiple international space agencies, including the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs, Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos and the European Space Agency.

The Chang'e-4 mission, which accomplished the first-ever soft landing on the far side of the moon, carries four payloads developed by the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Saudi Arabia.

The CNSA also delivered the data collected by the neutral atom detector aboard the Chang'e-4 rover to Sweden, the data from the neutron radiation detector aboard the Chang'e-4 lander to Germany and the data from the low-frequency radio astronomical instrument aboard the Chang'e-4 relay satellite Queqiao to the Netherlands at the conference.

"The scientific data has deepened human understanding of the lunar and space environment as well as solar activities," Zhang said.

Sonke Burmeister, who participated in the development of the German payload, depicted the collaboration as "very effective."

"It's really good experience to work with Chinese partners because they are very effective. We build a nice instrument within a very short timeframe," said Burmeister, a researcher with the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics of the Kiel University in Germany.

"The instrument has switched on every lunar day. It works properly on the moon's surface, which proves the collaboration is very fruitful," he said.

According to Burmeister, one interesting discovery so far is that the secondary radiation produced by the lunar surface soil is different from the dose previously measured by other probes in lunar orbit. "It is very important for astronauts who will travel to the moon."

He is also looking forward to participating in the collaboration provided by the Chang'e-6 mission.

Do tej misji powinna przystąpić Polska Agencja Kosmiczna. Duże pole do popisu zarówno w badaniach orbitalnych jak i powierzchniowych Księżyca no i doskonalenie technologii zbierania próbek.

2 16.04.23) China and France join hands for lunar probe
By Zhao Lei | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2023-04-12 23:02

China's expertise in sophisticated spacecraft engineering and France's abundant knowledge of space science are among key reasons why the two countries should team up to further advance space exploration and development, industry observers said.

Pang Zhihao, an expert on space exploration technology and a renowned writer on spaceflights, said on Wednesday that both nations have their own set of advantages and can complement each other well in space programs.

The remark came after the two nations stated in a joint declaration that they welcome cooperation between their space institutions for the Chang'e 6 lunar probe and joint studies of extraterrestrial soil and rock samples. The document was released by the two countries during French President Emmanuel Macron's recent state visit to China.

The Chang'e 6 mission, China's next robotic lunar expedition, will enable French scientists to place their equipment on the moon's little-known far side, according to China's leading space contractor.

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp, a State-owned conglomerate, said on Monday that based on a plan made by China and France in 2019, the Chang'e 6 will take a French device to the moon for scientific tasks.

The Chang'e 6 mission, scheduled for launch around 2025, will involve an on-site investigation, the retrieval of soil samples from the far side of the moon, and systematic and long-term laboratory research on the samples collected. If the mission succeeds, it will be the first time samples are retrieved from the moon's far side.

"China is good at designing and building sophisticated spacecraft, and organizing grand space programs. It also has a lot of science and technology resources, as well as engineering expertise, that can be used in space explorations," Pang said. "France is skilled in making precision scientific instruments that are essential to many space projects. It also has abundant knowledge of space science."

Combining their strengths will enable the two countries to create more opportunities for their scientists and engineers, achieve goals with smaller investments in lesser time and learn from each other's experiences, Pang added.

As China has opened its space station and deep-space missions to international cooperation, French and other European researchers are keen to take advantage of the opportunities to boost their science and technology studies, said Wang Ya'nan, editor-in-chief of Aerospace Knowledge magazine.

Likewise, Chinese scientists are happy to work with their European peers to explore the mysteries of the universe, he said.

In April 2019, the China National Space Administration announced payload opportunities on the Chang'e 6 spacecraft, with the mission's lander and orbiter each offering to carry 10 kilograms of foreign equipment.

Since then, the administration has received more than 20 proposals from foreign space agencies and scientists. After several rounds of selection and talks, it decided that the Chang'e 6 lander will carry scientific instruments from France, Italy and the European Space Agency/Sweden, while a Pakistani payload will be mounted on the orbiter.

According to France's national space agency CNES, the French instrument on the lander will be the DORN radon measurement instrument, which is designed to study the movement of lunar dust and some volatile chemicals between the lunar surface and the atmosphere, including during the water cycle.

China began its lunar program in 2004 and has launched five robotic probes since 2007. The fourth in the series, the Chang'e 4, landed on the far side of the moon in January 2019, becoming the first spacecraft to closely observe this lunar region. Its rover, Yutu 2, has been working there for nearly 1,600 days as the world's longest-operating lunar rover. The Chang'e 4 spacecraft carried German and Swedish sensing devices to the moon.

The most recent mission, the Chang'e 5, landed on the moon in December 2020 and returned with 1,731 grams of lunar rocks and soil, achieving a historic accomplishment about 44 years after the last lunar samples were brought to Earth.

Like the Chang'e 5, the Chang'e 6 will consist of four components — an orbiter, a lander, an ascender and a reentry module.

Its operational process will also mimic that of the Chang'e 5. After the probe reaches lunar orbit, the components will separate into two parts, with the orbiter and re-entry module remaining in orbit while the lander and ascender head for the moon's surface.

To naprawdę zdumiewające przedsięwzięcie.
