astronauta japońskiej agencji kosmicznej JAXA Akihiko Hoshide

Spacer wykonali Thomas Pesquet (Francja) i Akihiko Hoshide (Japonia). ("Amerykański spacer" = wykonany w amerykańskich skafandrach kosmicznych).

US EVA-77: Good morning; we're standing by for the start of a planned 6.5-hour spacewalk by ISS commander Akihiko Hoshide and ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet to assemble a frame to support a third roll-out solar array blanket - IROSA - that will be installed in late '22
https://twitter.com/cbs_spacenews/status/1437008793460789248US EVA-77: The crew is running an hour or so ahead of schedule and is expected to begin shortly after 7:30am EDT (1130 UTC); it will be the 244th EVA in ISS history, the 12th so far this year, the 6th for Pesquet and the 4th for Hoshide
US EVA-77: For identification, Hoshide, call sign EV-1, is wearing a suit with red stripes and using helmet camera 22; Pesquet, EV-2, is wearing an unmarked suit and using helmetcam 20. Both astronauts also are equipped with new high-def cameras.
US EVA-77: Today's EVA has two primary goals: 1) assembly of a support platform on the station's left-side inboard set of arrays for the eventual installation of a 3rd IROSA roll-out solar blanket (1/2)
US EVA-77: And 2), replacement of a floating point measurement unit that has a bad power supply; the FPMU, made up of four instruments, measures the electrical environment around the station due to interactions with charged particles in the extreme upper atmosphre (2/2)
US EVA-77: Airlock depress is underway; the procedure will take about 10 minutes longer than normal as flight controllers test a slower rate for eventual use with new spacesuits that are under development as part of the Artemis program
US EVA-77: Mission control reports another 15 minutes to go in the modified airlock depress procedure
US EVA-77: MCC-Houston reports another 5 to 10 minutes to go in the modified airlock depress procedure; no problems, just taking a bit longer than predicted
US EVA-77: Hoshide and Pesquet switched their suits to battery power at 8:15am EDT (1215 UTC), officially kicking off today's EVA
US EVA-77 (ET: 0h 42m, 1257 UTC): Hoshide and Pesquet are making their way to the P4/P5 work site on the left side of the space station's solar power truss; work to assemble an IROSA support frame will begin after foot restrains and tools are deployed
US EVA-77 (ET: 1h 04m, 1319 UTC): Hoshide and Pesquet are now assembling the IROSA platform's upper triangle; the struts will be attached to the P4/channel 4A solar array's beta gimbal assembly
US EVA-77 (ET: 1h 55m, 1410 UTC): Not much new to report at this stage; Hoshide and Pesquet are continuing with IROSA platform assembly, hooking up struts Tinkertoy fashion; they're pretty much on their timeline
US EVA-77 (ET: 3h 30m, 1545 UTC): Hoshide and Pesquet are bolting the final IROSA support strut in place; their next task will be to replace a set of four sensors used to measure the station's charge and electrical environment; the device has a faulty power supply
US EVA-77 (ET: 4h 30m, 1645 UTC): Hoshide is on the way back to the airlock to get the replacement floating potential measurement unit, or FPMU; he and Pesquet will install it togther; mission control says crew is on the timeline; considering possible get-ahead tasks
US EVA-77 (ET: 5h 45m, 1800 UTC): The failed floating potential measurement unit has been removed and Pesquet, assisted by Hoshide, is installing the replacement
US EVA-77 (ET: 6h 45m, 1900 UTC): Hoshide and Pesquet are back in the Quest airlock, thermal hatch cover closed; today's EVA will officially conclude when repressurization begins in a few minutes
US EVA-77: Airlock repress began at 309 EDT (1709 UTC), officially ending a 6h 54m spacewalk, the 244th in ISS history and the 12th so far this year; Hoshide's total EVA time through 4 outings now stands at 28h 17m; Pesquet's total through 6 EVAs is 39h 54m
