BlueBird 11-13

Globalna usługa AST SpaceMobile będzie początkowo skierowana do kluczowych rynków, takich jak Stany Zjednoczone, Europa, Japonia, rząd USA i inne rynki strategiczne.
Kampania startowa Stacji Sił Kosmicznych Cape Canaveral na Florydzie, zaplanowana na lata 2025 i 2026, będzie wykorzystywać istniejące rakiety nośne i rakietę New Glenn firmy Blue Origin do wyniesienia na niską orbitę okołoziemską do ~60 satelitów Block 2.

Satelity wykorzystują architekturę satelitów nowej generacji AST SpaceMobile, składającą się z kompozytów węglowych, zaprojektowanych z myślą o efektywnym wystrzeliwaniu wielu satelitów i przyspieszonym wdrażaniu konstelacji.
W połączeniu ze strategią firmy, zakładającą wystrzeliwanie satelitów przez wielu dostawców, architektura ta zapewnia elastyczność we wdrażaniu globalnej konstelacji AST SpaceMobile.

AST SpaceMobile zawarło umowy z niemal 60 operatorami sieci komórkowych na całym świecie, mającymi łącznie ponad 3 miliardy abonentów, a także strategiczne partnerstwa z AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, Google, Bell, Telus, STC Group i American Tower.

SpaceX launches 3 AST SpaceMobile BlueBird satellites on Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral
August 5, 2026 Will Robinson-Smith

(...) More than 8.5 minutes after liftoff, B1077 landed on the droneship, A Shortfall of Gravitas, positioned in the Atlantic Ocean. This was the 162nd landing on this vessel and the 645th Falcon booster landing to date.

The trio of BlueBird satellites were deployed several minutes apart beginning about 54 minutes after liftoff. Because of the size of the payload adaptor, SpaceX didn’t broadcast the deployment live, but rather confirmed the release on social media.

The 2,400-square-foot sized satellites will take a couple of weeks to deploy to their full size and complete checkouts before entering into the broader constellation. (...)

SpaceX launches 3 giant BlueBird direct-to-cell satellites on Falcon 9 rocket (video)

(...) Today's launch further expands AST SpaceMobile's constellation in low Earth orbit (LEO), which will beam internet service directly to unmodified smartphones once operational.

The newcomers bring the total number of BlueBird spacecraft launched to 13 and marks a significant milestone toward getting the constellation fully up and running, according to AST SpaceMobile.

"This orbital launch, combined with expanded manufacturing capacity and the recent successful launch and deployment of BlueBird satellites 8, 9, and 10, position us for beta services later this year with our space-based cellular broadband coverage," Scott Wisniewski, the company's president, said in a July 28 statement.

AST SpaceMobile began assembling its constellation with "Block 1" spacecraft, which have communications arrays that cover 693 square feet (64.4 square meters) when unfurled.

That's pretty big, but the company upped the ante with BlueBird 6, which reached LEO atop an Indian LVM3 rocket in December 2025. That was the first "next-generation" BlueBird, a class whose antennas cover a whopping 2,400 square feet (223 square m).

Prior to today's launch, there had been four next-gen BlueBirds in LEO — numbers 6, 8, 9 and 10. (BlueBird 7 was lost shortly after liftoff this past April after its Blue Origin New Glenn rocket suffered an anomaly.) So, BlueBirds 11 through 13 nearly double the off-Earth population. (...)
