Film dokumentalny, który miał premierę 26 lutego z udziałem większej ilości astronautów.
Dokument traktuje  o  programie Apollo ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem opowieści Eugene Cernana - ostatniego człowieka, który chodził po gruncie Księżyca.

All that is to say, for the initiated, the Apollo-era documentary/docudrama is a crowded space. And into that well-worn path steps the most recent entry, The Last Man on the Moon, a documentary by director Mark Craig covering the years before and during Apollo and focusing on astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to set foot on the moon. For those not already steeped in Apollo lore, The Last Man on the Moon does a fine job of stepping through high points of the Mercury to Apollo progression in an economic 95 minutes. For fanatics, the material will mostly be familiar, but there are still fascinating new perspectives to be gleaned.

Zobaczyłem dzisiaj ten dokument. Jak coś to jest dostępny na netflixie. Naprawdę warto zobaczyć, polecam

"The Last Steps" (Ostatnie kroki) do film składający się  z dokumentów filmowych z misji Apollo 17.
Światowa premiera miała miejsce  8 października 2016  podczas Hamptons International Film Festival w East Hampton, New York.

Produced by CNN Films and Great Big Story, CNN's video network, "The Last Steps" relies solely on original NASA footage — most of it having been shot by Cernan and his Apollo 17 crew mates, Harrison Schmitt and Ron Evans. (...)

"Unlike other films that have blended archival footage with interviews or narration from today, our film is unique in that we use only archival material, in other words transmission audio, original still photography and original film captured by the astronauts," said Todd Miller, "Last Steps" director, in an interview with collectSPACE, "thus giving the viewer a truly direct cinema experience of our last trip to the lunar surface." "We came across some rare archival footage of the Apollo 17 mission while working on our next feature-length film," said Miller, who produced and directed "Dinosaur 13," the 2014 Emmy Award-winning documentary about the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil. "While the footage really didn't fit in the context of the feature-length movie, I thought it would be perfect for a short that utilized only archival materials." (...)

"Select shots that were deemed too low quality, such as the 'suiting-up' shots and launch shots, were scanned from 16mm negative source from the film vaults at the National Archives in Washington," Miller described. "We also did a complete sound design and 5.1 mix that cleaned up all of the digitized transmission audio, flight control room audio, and any other original audio source."

Following its world premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival, "The Last Steps" is set to debut on Great Big Story later this fall, in time for the 44th anniversary of the mission. (...)

19 grudnia 2016 minęły 44 lata od powrotu na Ziemię ostatniej, jak do tej pory, załogowej misji księżycowej.
Obecnie  z załogi wyprawy Apollo 17  żyje tylko Harrison Schmitt, który jest obecnie ostatnim żyjącym człowiekiem, który chodził po Księżycu, a pierwszym żyjącym człowiekiem. który chodził po powierzchni Księżyca jest dzisiaj Buzz Aldrin.

The voyage of Apollo 17 marked the program’s concluding expedition to the moon. The mission lifted off after midnight on December 7, 1972 from Kennedy Space Center and touched down on the lunar surface on December 11. The crew spent almost 75 hours on the lunar surface, conducted nearly 22 hours of extravehicular activities (EVAs), and traveled almost 19 miles in the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV).  During lunar lift-off on December 14, Apollo 17 Mission Commander Eugene A. Cernan remarked that the astronauts were leaving as they came, “with peace and hope for all mankind.”

The scientific mission, which included three days on the lunar surface, was the third to employ the Lunar Roving Vehicle that was developed and managed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. From left, astronauts Harrison Schmitt (1935), Eugene Cernan (1934-2017) and Ronald Evans (1933-1990) are photographed with a lunar rover trainer and the mission's Saturn V rocket.


In this photo, taken during the second spacewalk on December 12, 1972, Cernan (1934-2017) is standing near the lunar rover designed by Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

On December 13, 1972, Apollo 17 Commander Eugene A. Cernan and Lunar Module Pilot (LMP) Harrison H. “Jack” Schmitt made the final lunar EVA or moonwalk of the final Apollo mission. Theirs was the longest stay on the Moon at just over three days and included over twenty-two hours spent exploring the lunar surface during which they collected over 250 pounds of lunar samples.

Nie rozumiem. Technicznie wszystko pasuje.
O misji Apollo 17 jest nieco później.
Co najwyżej ten wprowadzający w sceptycyzm tytuł.
Ale pewnie to zachęta  dla tych, którzy szukają  argumentów  deprecjonujących misję Apollo 17.

EDIT: Jedyna anomalia jaką dostrzegłem to odtwarzanie rozpoczynające się pod koniec filmu.
Wystarczy ręcznie zainicjować odtwarzanie filmu od początku.

Film jest OK, tylko jakiś półgłowek dopisał do niego durny tytuł. Pewno jest gdzieś na YT czysta wersja, bo to z Planete.

Dziś o godzinie 23:00 na kanale PLANETE+ powtórka dwuczęściowego, dwugodzinnego filmu pt. "Apollo 17 - ostatnia misja na Księżyc". Wersja z polskim lektorem. Film ten był nadany kilka dni temu we wcześniejszych godzinach. Kto nie widział - serdecznie polecam, bo pierwszy raz mamy okazję zobaczyć lot Apollo 17 tak dokładnie i z bieżącym komentarzem astronautów na tle przekazów wideo i zdjęć. Są tam też wstawki z jazdy Roverem, filmowane kamerką 16mm, pochodzące z wyprawy Apollo 16, lecz specjalnie mi to nie przeszkadza. Chętnie obejrzę ten film ponownie, mimo że emisja kończy się przed pierwszą po północy.
