RS EVA-49: The EVA crew first will retrieve two four-cable bundles stored previously outside Poisk and move to Nauka to mate bundles 1 & 2; they'll then move to the front end of Zarya to plug the cables into the US electrical systemRS EVA-49: The cables will route power from four NASA main bus switching units in the station's U.S. solar power system to the Nauka module; the MBSUs will be "safed" before any connections are made and then repowered after the cables are plugged inRS EVA-49: The cosmonauts then will mate an ethernet cable to Nauka, install three handrails and deploy three Biorisk space exposure experiments before stowing the Strela boom and returning to PoiskRS EVA-49 (ET 1h 05m, 11:46am EDT): Novitskiky and Dubrov ar setting up cable clamps before beginning work to route and connect power cables to the new Nauka moduleRS EVA-49 (ET 1h42m, 12:23pm EDT): Novitskiy is beginning work to connect the first cable bundle to the Nauka lab moduleRS EVA-49 (ET 2h01m, 12:42pm EDT): All four cables in bundle No. 2 have now been connected; next up, the cosmonauts will work to plug in a second four-bundle cable; these connections will tie the Nauka module into the station's power gridRS EVA-49 (ET 3h00m, 1:41pm EDT): The four cables in bundle No. 1 have been plugged in to panel 15; the cosmonauts are securing them before pressing ahead with cable connections at the Zarya-Unity interfaceRS EVA-49 (ET 3h30m, 2:11pm EDT): Dubrov, riding on the end of the telescoping Strela boom, is just about in position to begin connecting two final sets of power cables and an ethernet cableRS EVA-49: Once in place, the cables will route regulated electricity from the US segment's solar power system to the new Russian Nauka multi-purpose lab module; Nauka's own power system will be reconfigured for "quiescent" operationsRS EVA-49 (ET 4h41m, 3:22pm EDT): The first set of power cable bundles has now been plugged in at the Zarya patch panel; the cosmonauts will install an ethernet cable before connecting the second set of power cables to complete the primary goal of today’s EVARS EVA-49 (ET 5h30m, 4:11pm EDT): Flight controllers report good tests of the electrical paths enabled by the first set of cables installed by Novitskiy and Dubrov; the cosmonauts now plan to install a second set of cables to complete the electrical hookupsRS EVA-49: Because the cosmonauts are running behind schedule, Russian controllers have told the crew to defer installation of three Biorisk spac exposure experiments, three spacewalk handrails and a photo survey
RS EVA-49 (ET 5h57m, 4:38pm EDT): The second set of power cables has been plugged into the Zarya patch panel; flight controllers will now carry out a series of tests to verify continuity and normal operations
RS EVA-49 (ET 6h33m, 5:14pm EDT): Russian flight controllers report the second set of electrical cables are properly mated and working normallyRS EVA-49 (ET 7h16m, 5:57pm EDT): The cosmonauts will not be jettisoning the ethernet cable reel as planned; that task will be deferred to a downstream EVA; Novitskiy and Dubrov are wrapping things upRS EVA-49 (ET 7h22m, 6:03pm EDT): Novitskiy and Dubrov have completed a tool inventory and have been cleared to re-enter the Poisk airlock; today's EVA will end with hatch closureRS EVA-49: Hatch closure confirmed, at 6:35pm EDT (2235 UTC); EVA duration was 7 hours and 54 minutes, pushing total ISS EVA time to 1,527 hours and 35 minutes; Novitskiy an Dubrov have now logged 15 hours and 13 minutes each during 2 EVAs
