WASHINGTON — Uruguay signed the Artemis Accords outlining best practices in space exploration Feb. 15, the second country in as many weeks to do so.

In a ceremony at NASA Headquarters, Omar Paganini, foreign minister of Uruguay, signed the Accords on the behalf of the country. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and other officials from both the United States and Uruguay attended the signing.

NASA i Japonia ogłosiły nowe wysiłki na rzecz zacieśnienia współpracy kosmicznej. Japonia zaprojektuje, opracuje i będzie obsługiwać ciśnieniowy łazik księżycowy do eksploracji z załogą i bez załogi, umożliwiając astronautom dalsze podróżowanie i dłuższą pracę na powierzchni Księżyca: https://go.nasa.gov/3Jeg1ON

Podczas konferencji prasowej Daniel Newswander z NASA powiedział, że japoński łazik ciśnieniowy wyląduje w 2031 r. z zamierzeniem, że będzie działał przez 10 lat.

Według Lary Kearney z NASA celem jest umieszczenie łazika na Księżycu i przygotowanie go do wsparcia załogi Artemis VII. Podobnie jak bezciśnieniowy księżycowy pojazd terenowy, łazik ciśnieniowy będzie również zaprojektowany do zdalnego sterowania, gdy astronauci nie przebywają na Księżycu.

WASHINGTON — Switzerland formally signed the Artemis Accords April 16, becoming the latest nation to join an agreement about sustainable space exploration.

In a ceremony at NASA Headquarters, Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, the country’s minister for economic affairs, education and research, signed the accords alongside NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and officials from both countries.

“The Artemis Accords constitute a leap forward in space cooperation,” Parmelin said in remarks at the signing event. “Switzerland’s signing of the Artemis Accords underscores our commitment to this ambition and our belief that cooperation to creating an improved framework for our space community.”

Both Parmelin and Nelson noted that cooperation between Switzerland and the United States in space dates back to Apollo 11, when one of the first instruments deployed by astronauts after landing on the lunar surface was a solar wind experiment from the University of Bern in Switzerland.

In comments after the event, Nelson noted Switzerland’s famed neutrality made its signing of the Artemis Accords significant. “It is all the more important that Switzerland would join a declaration of principles of the peaceful uses of space,” he said. (...)

Na razie bogata Norwegia musi zadowolić się tylko astronautą pochodzenia szwedzko-norweskiego.

WASHINGTON — Sweden signed the Artemis Accords outlining best practices for responsible space exploration April 16, the second European country in as many days to join.

NASA and the Swedish government announced that Sweden signed the accords in a ceremony at government offices in Stockholm. Mats Persson, Sweden’s minister for education and research, signed the accords alongside the U.S. ambassador to Sweden, Erik D. Ramanathan. (...)

WASHINGTON — Slovenia signed the Artemis Accords outlining best practices for sustainable space exploration April 19, the third European country to do so in five days.

Matevž Frangež, state secretary of the ministry of the economy, tourism and sport in the Slovenian government, signed the Accords in a ceremony in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It took place as part of the broader U.S. – Slovenia Strategic Dialogue held there that day. (...)
