Hi Chris,
I'm so sorry for the delayed reply! That was my fault, we got our wires crossed a bit on our end and thought we had already sent you a reply. To answer your questions:
- Yes, cameras will be included in the explorer and mini-explorer packages.
- In terms of precisely timing when the experiment/photographs are taken, yes that will be possible; the only limitation in that regard is that you will only be able to command the satellite to do anything while it is in range of one of our ground stations; however, using the GPS module, you can schedule things ahead of time and the satellite can carry them out at the correct time and place (for example, you could preprogram it to take a picture of a sunrise).
- In terms of up-to-date orbit information, we're planning on making the general coordinates available freely on the internet so anyone can track where it is in the sky. Our backers will also have login access to get the latest telemetry data from the satellite as well, including system status, power generation, etc etc.
- The actual scheduling of bookings is going to be first-come-first served, so if the time is available, you can book it as late as a few days in advance; however, we're expecting timeslots to be in short supply, and since it's first-some-first-served, it's best to book your time slot as soon as you know when you want it.
- In terms of upgrading after the campaign, that shouldn't be a problem, providing there are enough slots left of the package you're looking for!
Let me know if there's anything else I can tell you about the project!
Cheers,
Joel
