- "Extremely long-lived slow moving meteor"
- "definitely faster than a plane, slower than meteor, spanned 3/4 width of horizon in about 40 seconds"
- "such a cool experience to witness this. wasn't sure if it was a plane on fire or a slow meteor"
- "I would like to know if this made contact with earth, where? How big?"
- "going slow like a plane but with glowing tail"
- "I have observed many fireballs, this is the longest in duration I have ever seen, 60-70 seconds., low on the horizon sparking"
- "It was huge and an amazing experience to see"
- "I was driving north on Minsteed Rd. and noticed it in the west thru my car window. It was bright like a star but had a very long tail. I first thought it was a plane with its headlights on but then it disappeared. I would really like to know if anyone else saw it too."
- "It was awesome...look just like the fireballs they have shown on news stories. Way cool."
- "My son was with me and saw the trail moving across the sky as well we did not see an explosion just bright long trail moving across sky appeared to be very far to the south moved at very slight angle to horizon and disappeared from view be hind trees. Very long tail"
- "It was amazing, I have never seen anything like this in my life!!!"
- "I have witness 3 or 4 meteor showers. I have seen many 1-off shooting stars. This was unlike any of those. I briefly initially thought it was an airplane experiencing a catastrophe"
- "This was the most amazing meteor i have ever seen in my life"
- "In all my years even in the navy seeing shooting stars every night I have never seen anything like this."
- "Couldn't tell if it was a meteor or a plane on fire. Never saw anything like it. I have seen shooting stars and this was definitely not that."
- "ball appeared about 1/3 the size of the full moon that night, very long tail, occasional glowing fragments from actual ball, very long tail like a flickering white glowing cloud. --- Sound: constant light whooshing rumble"
- "I was amazed that the fireballs were so bright and so numerous!"
- "I'm a pilot for a large airline. I first noticed the event out of the right window as it was overtaking us. We were in a 500 fpm climb at 35.5 thousand feet and were unable to see the main event as we passed through 37.5, but were still able to observe the train. The object was first noticed as it went through about a 280 degree bearing to the aircraft, to which I had initially remarked to the other pilot that "I wonder if that guy knows he's on fire." The event was very similar to video footage of the Columbia breakup in terms of colors and debris separation."
- "I saw from my car, my 14 year old son was with me and he saw it as well."
- "Brighter than any "shooting star" I've ever seen before and larger! Truly looked like it was on fire"
- "This was unlike any previous meteor sightings. It was large, red ball with yellow tail, and lasted about 20 seconds, moving Right to Left above the western horizon, in a slightly downward track. Very exciting for us!"
