Nie chodzi o podwykonawców, tylko o konkretne rozwiązania. ESA zrezygnowała ze Sky Crane'a, który zadziałał, i dała się znów uwieść rosyjskim opowieściom, tylko że dla Rosjan to lądowanie na ogniu będzie w zasadzie debiutem. Ogólnie czarno to widzę. Swobodny upadek z 2 metrów to też pomysł taki sobie.
Ciekawe, czy ESA pomaga im obchodzić embargo na elektronikę, bo własnej nie mają, a chińska podobno nie wystarcza.

No niestety trzeba się zgodzić, bo Rosjanie to po pierwsze niechlujstwo w projektowaniu misji, brak kasy na rzetelne testy swoich komponentów, kompletny brak doświadczenia w badaniach Marsa i wreszcie oraz generalnie niepoważny partner zarówno do rozmów a tym bardziej do przeprowadzania wspólnych misji planetarnych... czarno widzę efekt tej współpracy. Także w dużo większym stopniu przejmowałbym się tym aspektem niż kwestią takiej czy innej nazwy dla łazika....

Kozaczok... oby ładnie posadził Rosalind na powierzchni - bez podskoków Ciekawe kiedy zobaczymy jakieś zdjęcia samego lądownika. Jak dotąd widziałem jedynie grafiki.

Kazachok left Russia after being carefully packed to meet planetary protection requirements, making sure to not bring terrestrial biological contamination to Mars. It was shipped to Turin, Italy, on an Antonov plane along with ground support equipment and other structural elements.

Packed for Europe

The Italian division of Thales Alenia Space will perform final assembly and testing of the mission in close cooperation with ESA and the Russian Lavochkin Association, the developer and manufacturer of the descent module including the landing platform.

There will be more components arriving to Italy throughout the year, including avionics equipment, the carrier and rover modules and thermal protection systems for the landing platform.

Several test campaigns with ExoMars models are running in parallel in preparation for launch and landing.

The European Space Agency (ESA) and Russia's Roscosmos should not consider postponing the launch of the ExoMars mission as its rescheduling will lead to the loss of support from European member countries, Director-General Jan Woerner told Sputnik.

"I don't accept a discussion about rescheduling because we already postponed the launch for two years, from 2018 to 2020, and I believe industry should be able to deliver," Woerner said.

"I am very clear and very strong in the message that we should not dare to postpone it because if we postpone it, I am quite sure I will lose the support of the European member states and therefore 2020 is for me a must."

Trwają kolejne testy jazdy łazika Exo Mars Rover we Włoszech:

The ExoMars rover has a brand new control centre in one of Europe's largest Mars yards. The Rover Operations Control Centre (ROCC) was inaugurated in Turin, Italy, ahead of the rover's exploration adventure on the Red Planet in 2021.

The epicentre of the action for directing Mars surface operations on Earth is at the ALTEC premises in Turin, Italy. From here, engineers and scientists will work shoulder to shoulder at mission control, right next to a very special Mars yard.

Filled with 140 tonnes of soil, the Mars-like terrain has sandy areas and rocks of various sizes that will help rehearse possible mission scenarios.

In case Rosalind Franklin lands on a small hill or needs to overcome a dune, the Mars yard has a 64-square metre tilting platform able to simulate up to 30 degrees of inclination and help decide on the best way to move on.

When it comes to drilling, the new centre has a unique feature - a platform with a well that will allow the rover operators to exercise the full sequence of collecting martian samples two metres under the surface.

The facility has special lamps to simulate the light conditions on Mars, different from those on Earth.

"Thanks to ROCC, Europe will have the great opportunity to manage the activities of the rover on Mars and to plan and test its movements," said Giorgio Saccoccia, president of the Italian space Agency ASI during the opening ceremony.

"This will be the first step towards new robotic missions for the study of Mars and other celestial bodies."

Kolejny krok do niepowodzenia misji postawiony. Nie udał się test spadochronów dla ExoMars 2020 

A May 28 test of the parachute system used a high-altitude balloon above the Swedish Space Corporation’s Esrange test site in northern Sweden. The test was intended to demonstrate the end-to-end performance of the entire system, including both the pilot and main chutes as well as the mortars used to extract the pilot chutes.

ESA said that the first main parachute suffered several radial tears in its fabric, all occurring before reaching its maximum load. The second main parachute also suffered a single tear, also before peak loading.

The other parts of the parachute system worked as expected, and ESA said “a good level of the expected aerodynamic drag was nevertheless achieved” despite the damage sustained by the parachutes. However, the agency acknowledged that the problem needs to be understood and corrected prior to the mission’s launch in one year.
