С июня по октябрь 1964 года он проходил подготовку для полёта на КК «Восход» сначала в составе группы, а с июля 1964 года — в основном экипаже вместе с Борисом Волыновым и Георгием Катысом. MOSCOW, Feb. 17 (AP)Boris Grigoryevich Yegorov, Soviet brain and neurosurgeon and father of a Soviet cosmonaut, has died at the age of 79, Izvestia, the Government news. paper, reported today.
Dr. Yegorov, a co‐founder of Moscow's Neurosurgery Clinic was the father of Boris Borisovich Yegorov, the physiciancosmonaut who was aboard the flight of the Voskhod 1 spaceship in 1964.
He was a military physician during World War I and in 1928 worked at a clinic, later reorganized into the Institute of Neurosurgery. From 1941 to 1947 he was chief neurosurgeon in the Health Ministry.
He was the author of more than 100 scientific works and papers on neurosurgery and chief editor of the journal Problems of Neurosurgery.

MOSCOW — Boris Yegorov, the first doctor in space and one of the first Soviet cosmonauts, has died of a heart attack. He was 57.
Yegorov, a professor of medicine, died Sept. 12 in his Moscow apartment, the ITAR-Tass news agency said.
He was a member of the first space crew that included civilians, on the seventh manned Soviet space flight, Oct. 12-13, 1964.
Awarded the nation’s highest decorations--the gold star of the Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin--Yegorov later headed a variety of medical research institutions.
