Dwa satelity wyniesione CZ-4C
BY MICHAŁ MOROZ ON 16 LISTOPADA 2017

Wizualizacja satelity z serii Fengyun 4 / CNSA

Z kosmodromu Taiyuan wystartowała rakieta Długi Marsz 4C wynosząc satelitę meteorologicznego Fengyun-3D oraz usługowego HEAD-1.

Start rakiety nastąpił 14 listopada o godzinie 19:35 (CET). Oba satelity zostały wyniesione na orbitę o parametrach 792 x 812 km i inklinację 98,65 stopni.

Fengyun-3D

HEAD-1

Rakieta CZ-6 wyniesie trzy satelity konstelacji obserwacji Ziemi Jilin.

Chinese weather satellite launched into polar orbit
November 14, 2017 Stephen Clark

A Long March 4C rocket lifts off from the Taiyuan space center Tuesday with the Fengyun 3D weather satellite. Credit: Xinhua

(...) Fengyun 3D hosts 10 instruments to collect data on atmospheric conditions, cloud and storm movements, ozone health and greenhouse gases, the China Meteorological Administration said in a statement announcing the successful launch.

The new satellite, designed for mission of eight years, “will help people learn about the future weather conditions earlier and reduce the economic and social impact of natural disasters,” CMA said in a statement. “Its ability to detect aerosols and greenhouse gases will play an active role in coping with climate change.”

Fengyun 3D will replace the Fengyun 3B weather satellite launched in November 2010. Another Chinese weather satellite already in orbit — Fengyun 3C — will conduct tandem observations with the newest member of the fleet. (...)

Tuesday’s launch marked China’s 12th orbital launch attempt of the year, and the 11th to successfully reach orbit.

Long March 4C launches Fengyun-3D and HEAD-1 co-passenger
November 14, 2017 by Rui C. Barbosa

The HEAD-1 is the first satellite in the Skywalker Constellation. The satellite has a launch mass of 45 kg and sports 3-axis stabilization. HEAD-1 will be operational for two to three years.

The HEAD-1 satellite applies highly integrated “Smart” satellite platform, equipped with the world advanced AIS (Automatic Identification System) payload system, including the sensitive AIS receiver and beam-complementary, ground-fully-covered AIS receiving antenna, which has good detection rate for the ship’s high-density and medium density areas.

In average, it can decode 2 million messages from no less than 60,000 ships per day.

HEAD Aerospace is headquartered in Beijing, China, with its subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Italy, France and Hong Kong, and operate globally.

As the main user and sole operator of “HEAD-1” satellite, HEAD Aerospace will carry out the commercial operation based on its AIS system after satellites launching. (...)

The launch of the Long March 4C (Y21) rocket from the LC9 launch complex was the first launch from Taiyuan in 2017.

Udany start Delty II z Joint Polar Satellite System-1
BY MICHAŁ MOROZ ON 19 LISTOPADA 2017

JPSS-1

Joint Polar Satellite System będzie nadzorowany przez NASA oraz NOAA – Narodową Administrację ds. Oceanów i Atmosfery.

Wyposażony został w pięć głównych instrumentów naukowych: Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS), Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS), Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS), Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) oraz Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES).

Nanosatelity

MiRaTa – cubesat 3U. Demonstrator zminiaturyzowanego radiometru mikrofalowego oraz walidacja nowego odbiornika sygnału GPS. Oba ładunki zostaną wykorzystane do eksperymentu kalibracji radiometru przy pomocy tzw. okultacji radiowej GPS.

Buccaneer RMM – cubesat 3U. Wyposażony w antenę radiową do kalibracji systemu Jindalee Over-the-Horizon Radar Network (JORN).

Fox 1B (RadFxSat) – cubesat 1U. Test wpływu promieniowania kosmicznego na elektronikę pokładową.

EagleSat – cubesat 1U. Edukacyjny satelita testujący zachowanie kości pamięci w warunkach promieniowania kosmicznego.

MakerSat 0 – wydrukowany cubesat 1U, testujący cztery różne stopy plastiku w warunkach przestrzeni kosmicznej. Pozyskane informacje pozwolą na przeprowadzenie misi MakerSat 1, cubesata złożonego na pokładzie Międzynarodowej Stacji Kosmicznej.

Delta II launches on penultimate mission with JPSS-1
November 18, 2017 by Chris Bergin

(...) JPSS-1, which will be renamed NOAA-20 once it is in orbit, is the newest satellite in the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) fleet of polar-orbit weather satellites. JPSS-1 is the first of four planned Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) spacecraft, successors to the organization’s current-generation Polar Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) constellation. (...)

POES was itself the successor to the United States’ first operational weather satellite program, TIROS. (...)

Delta II first flew in February 1989, with a Delta II 6925 delivered the first operational GPS satellite to orbit. The 6000-series was an interim version of the rocket using Castor-4A boosters – the 7000-series which uses GEM-40s first flew in November 1990. (...)
