China launches new carrier rocket

JIUQUAN, April 2 (Xinhua) -- A new carrier rocket made its maiden flight in China on Sunday, sending a satellite into its planned orbit.

The rocket is known as TL-2 Y1 and blasted off at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 4:48 p.m. (Beijing Time).

The flight will verify the overall program of the rocket and the coordination between the systems and obtain the parameters of the flight environment.

The satellite will be used in remote sensing imaging experiments and other technical verifications.

SQX 1 rocket successfully launched after multiple failures

A SQX 1 solid-propellant carrier rocket was successfully launched on Friday at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China's Gobi Desert, putting an end to the model's series of failures.

The rocket, the fifth in the SQX 1 series, blasted off at 12:00 am from a launchpad in the middle of a vast, rocky terrain at the Jiuquan center, according to a video clip published by i-Space, a private rocket maker in Beijing that developed the spacecraft.

After a 10-minute flight, the rocket reached its preset orbit, the company said, without mentioning whether it carried satellites.

The three-stage SQX 1 is propelled by solid fuel, has a liftoff weight of 42 metric tons and a diameter of 1.4 meters. Its launch capacity allows it to transport satellites with a total weight of 500 kilograms into a sun-synchronous orbit 500 kilometers above the Earth, according to the designers.

The craft's first flight took place in July 2019 at the Jiuquan center, marking the first successful orbital mission by a private Chinese rocket. However, the next three flights failed due to technical malfunctions.

In addition to i-Space, there are two other private companies in China that have used their own rockets for orbital missions.

There are more than 400 private enterprises on the Chinese mainland that are involved in the space industry, and dozens of them are focused on rocket development and production, according to data from market analysis companies.

JIUQUAN - China on Sunday morning launched a Long March-4B rocket to place a new meteorological satellite in space.

The rocket blasted off at 9:36 am (Beijing Time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China and soon sent the Fengyun-3 07 satellite into its preset orbit.

The satellite will provide services for weather forecasting, disaster prevention and mitigation, climate change response and ecological conservation.

The mission marked the 471st flight of the Long March carrier rockets, according to the launch center.

22.04.2023 o 08:49 z wyrzutni FLP w Sriharikota wystrzelona została RN PSLV-CA, która wyniosła na orbitę o parametrach: hp=585 km, ha=585 km, i=10° dwa singapurskie satelity - teledetekcyjnego TeLEOS-2 i technologicznego Lumelite-4.

(2/3) Ważący 741 kg satelita TeLEOS-2 jest wyposażony w radar z syntetyczną aperturą o rozdzielczości przestrzennej do 1 metra.
LUMELITE-4 to 16-kilogramowy demonstrator wysokowydajnej platformy komunikacyjnej w standardzie CubeSat 12U , który w przyszłości powinnien znaleźć zastosowanie w ratownictwie morskim i śledzeniu statków.


(3/3) Podobnie jak w czerwcu zeszłego roku, wraz z dzisiejszym startem, czwarty stopień RN został zmodyfikowany tak, aby działał przez około miesiąc jako aktywna platforma POEM-2 do eksperymentów.
Jest ona wyposażona w rozkładane panele ogniw fotowoltaicznych i zawiera 7 eksperymentów.

New Beidou satellite launches into orbit

China launched a Long March 3B carrier rocket on Wednesday morning to transport a satellite into space for the country's Beidou Navigation Satellite System, marking the first deployment of a Beidou satellite in three years.

As the countdown ticked down to zero at 10:49 am at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern mountainous region in Sichuan province, eight engines on the Long March 3B's first stage and four boosters sprang to life and unleashed dazzling orange flame as they lifted the 20-story-tall gigantic vehicle into clear skies.

Shortly after the liftoff, the rocket successfully placed the satellite, the 60th in the Beidou system and the first backup craft for the third-generation Beidou network, into a geostationary orbit, announced Deng Hongqin, director of the Xichang center.

Designed and built by the China Academy of Space Technology, the satellite has typical functions of any third-generation Beidou satellite - positioning, navigation and timing. Compared with previous Beidou satellites, it has some upgraded hardware and features stronger signal, faster transmission speed and higher operational stability, said Chen Zhonggui, chief designer of Beidou's third-generation satellites.

Despite being called a backup, the satellite is designed to start working as soon as it enters orbit. Its primary tasks are to expand the service areas of Beidou's short-messaging function, enhance Beidou's positioning accuracy as well as improve the network's operational continuity and reliability, he noted.
