https://twitter.com/blueorigin/status/1430906518220644357Key stats from today’s #NewShepard NS-17 mission:
8th consecutive successful flight to space and back for this vehicle, which is dedicated to flying payloads.
18th consecutive successful crew capsule landing (every flight in program, including pad escape test in 2012).
https://twitter.com/blueorigin/status/1430913635719598080The crew capsule reached an apogee of 343,787 ft above ground level (AGL) / 347,434ft mean sea level (MSL) (104.8 km AGL / 105.9 km MSL).
The booster reached an apogee of 343,385 ft AGL / 347,032 ft MSL (104.7 km AGL / 105.8 km MSL).
The mission elapsed time was 10 min 15 sec and the max ascent velocity was 2,232 mph / 3,592 km/h.
The flight included thousands of @ClubforFuture postcards, @NASA lunar landing technologies mounted on the exterior of the booster, and payloads supported by @NASA_Technology Flight Opportunities program.
The 8th consecutive landing for this particular booster.
Yesterday #NewShepard flew a @NASA lunar landing technology demonstration through a Tipping Point partnership to advance learning and reduce risk on future Moon missions.

Blue Origin’s New Shepard booster lifts off Thursday from West Texas. Credit: Blue Origin(...) After firing more than two minutes, the main engine cut off and the crew capsule separated from the New Shepard booster after reaching a maximum speed of 2,229 mph (3,586 kilometers per hour). The capsule coasted to an altitude of more than 347,000 feet (105.6 kilometers), above the internationally-recognized boundary of space, before falling back to Earth.
The booster deployed air brakes and reignited its BE-3 engine to slow down for landing on a concrete pad a couple of miles north of its launch site. Moments later, the crew capsule deployed three main parachutes and fired its own small retrorockets for touchdown on the desert floor at Blue Origin’s sprawling 80,000-acre test facility. (...)

Write or draw your vision on a postcard for what you think the future of life in space will look like—or any other message you’d like to send to space. Send your postcard to Club for the Future, we'll launch it to space and back on a New Shepard rocket, and return it to you stamped "Flown to Space." Send us as many postcards as you'd like—we'll fly them all. (...)
