John Glenn nadal pozostaje najstarszym człowiekiem na orbicie.
Od tamtej pory pojawił się jednak następny 70-latek (http://lk.astronautilus.pl/astros/582.htm), który odbył lot kosmiczny, ale młodszy od rekordzisty o 5 lat podczas startu na orbitę.
US Senator John Glenn (1921-2016) returned to space, as PS STS-95 (Discovery) for 8+ days, OTD in 1998, 36 years after becoming the 1st American to orbit Earth (Friendship 7 Mercury 6). Selected by NASA in 1959 (Group 1) he left in 1964 to pursue a business & political career.
