Japoński ispace ogłosiło, że planują start drugiej misji z lądownikiem RESILIENCE pod koniec 2024r, a to oznacza, że już trzy misje na Księżyc na pokładzie Falcona 9 zaplanowane są na koniec roku 2024r! Inne misje to Blue Ghost od FireFly i Prime-1 od Intuitive Machines.

Mała aktualizacja. Obecnie w styczniu planowany jest start Falcona 9 z lądownikami Hakuto-R od iSpace i Blue Ghost od FireFly na pokładzie tego samego Falcona 9! 27 lutego planowany jest start kolejnego Falcona 9 z lądownikiem Intuitive Machines IM-2.

Falcon 9 Impact on the Moon

I know that this video—unlike those pampered nonsense videos circulating on the networks—won't be shared as much, but it's real. (By the way, in many of those fake videos, you can see an object impacting into the Letronne crater, which, however, lies completely elsewhere than the actual impact site.)

The video shows ejected material rising above the surface just after the second stage of the Falcon 9 impacted the Moon. It was captured by astronomers from the Spanish Astrophysical Institute in Andalusia (IAA-CSIC). The dark area corresponds to the lunar disk, which was deliberately artificially obscured during filming so as not to overexpose the night background against which the cloud could be observed. It's clear that the video is sped up, but it hasn't been published yet how much.

💥 But we have more evidence of the impact: The VLT telescope of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile detected spectral lines of sodium and lithium in the cloud. The sodium comes from the disturbed lunar soil, while the lithium likely originates directly from the rocket's debris.
