SpaceX launches Falcon 9 rocket on record-breaking 36th flight
July 9, 2026 Will Robinson-Smith

(...) It flew in support of the Starlink 10-42 mission, which added another 29 broadband internet satellites to the company’s low Earth orbit constellation. SpaceX currently has more than 10,700 Starlink satellites in orbit. (...)

A little more than eight minutes after liftoff, B1067 landed on the drone ship, ‘A Shortfall of Gravitas’, positioned in the Atlantic Ocean. This was the 160th landing for this vessel and the 635th booster landing to date for SpaceX.

SpaceX vessels from Thursday’s jellyfish-filled Starlink 10-42 launch have returned to Port Canaveral. Bob led the parade at around 4:30 AM with fairings, and Signet Warhorse I brought ASOG in just before 8 AM. Fleet leader Falcon 9 B1067 looking good after 36 trips ⬆️⬇️!! 💪🚀⛴️

The King has returned! SpaceX flight leader Booster 1067 just returned from its 36th mission to space. Carrying 29 Starlink satellites it landed on the drone ship & returned to Port Canaveral this morning. Originally boosters were hoped to have at least 5 reuses & 10 was considered the goal, reuse is now the standard.

Michael Tomlinson @mikejt4·Jul 12
It’s pretty insane considering the stresses on a rocket during launch 🚀
I’m guessing they will never get to thousands of flights like an aircraft… but it’s bloody impressive.
I wonder if they do inspections like aircraft; x-ray metallurgy looking for cracks etc?

Greg Scott @GregScott_photo·Jul 12
yes they do, after each flight. Refurbishments & repairs are made and right back in service within weeks. The counts probably will not get too much higher as SpaceX is trying to phase out the F9's and switch over to the upcoming Starship within the next yr.
