#OTD in 2007, @NASAHubble captured this rare edge-on view of the ring system of the planet Uranus. Astronomers on Earth can only see the rings' edge every 42 years due to the planet's 84 year orbit: https://s.si.edu/2tXujvI

New image processing techniques “refreshed” older Hubble data showing a portion of the Eagle Nebula. This structure is 9.5 light-years tall and 7,000 light-years distant from Earth, and is one of many nebulas in the Milky Way.

🌌 First light on the Eagle Nebula (M16) by Do Po Pi — not bad for 760 x 20-second subs!
Captured with Seestar S50 in EQ mode under Bortle 4 skies, processed in Pixinsight.
Do you remember the first time you shot a new astro target?

Hoag’s Object: A Rare Ring Galaxy with a Mysterious Core
This striking image from Hubble shows Hoag’s Object, a rare ring galaxy with a glowing yellow core of old stars surrounded by a nearly perfect blue ring of young, massive stars—likely formed from a past galactic collision.

HUBBLE @HUBBLE_space

Our ESA/Hubble Picture of the Week features a small but mighty galaxy! 1/5

https://twitter.com/HUBBLE_space/status/1934558178374746385

Cytuj
NGC 4449 is situated just 12.5 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici 🐕 (The Hunting Dogs). It is a dwarf galaxy — far smaller and contains fewer stars than the Milky Way. 2/5

Cytuj
It may be small, but it packs a punch when it comes to making stars! NGC 4449 is a starburst galaxy, meaning it’s forming new stars at a much faster rate than expected for its size ⭐🏭 3/5

https://twitter.com/HUBBLE_space/status/1934558184351424560

Cytuj
Unlike most starburst galaxies, which produce stars mainly in their centres, NGC 4449 is alight with brilliant young stars throughout. This is thought to have come about due to NGC 4449’s interactions with its galactic neighbours. 4/5

Celebrating 36 years of discovery with the Hubble Space Telescope 🔭

Collected on April 23, 2026, by one of Vantor's WorldView Legion satellites, this remarkable non-Earth image showcases Hubble from just 61.8 km away—an incredible perspective of one of humanity’s most iconic scientific instruments. With a space sample distance of 4.0 cm, Hubble’s signature cylindrical body, gleaming thermal shielding, and extended solar arrays are clearly visible, along with the open aperture door at the front of the telescope.

For over three decades, Hubble has expanded our understanding of the universe—delivering breathtaking imagery and groundbreaking science that continue to inspire.

Proud to support the technologies and teams that make moments like this possible.
