The competition quickly melted away as we all played around and discovered the range of possibilities for icing in zero-g. It opened up a whole new dimension, quite literally, with layer upon layer of icing. And in the end, they tasted even better than they looked!

Cold welding allows similar metals to fuse at ambient temperature when a sufficiently high contact force is applied. Astrobeat assesses cold welding in microgravity. This method could one day allow astronauts to repair spacecraft hulls from impacts. http://go.nasa.gov/3BIrPc3

Plant Habitat-07 tests moisture levels for growing plants, including drought and overwatering conditions. Results could provide insight into the effects on plant growth and their microbiomes in space.
