Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC) will launch and operate the NG-24 Cygnus spacecraft as part of the NASA Commercial Resupply Services 2 (CRS2) program.

The Cygnus mission will be up to 180 days in length, as follows:
•Launch (from Cape Canaveral, Florida), orbit-raising maneuvers, and approach to ISS (3 days)
•Berthed operations (up to 170 days)
•De-berthing, departure, orbit maneuvers, and controlled, destructive re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere over southern Pacific Ocean (2 to 7 days) Cygnus spacecraft telemetry will be transmitted during all phases of the mission.

An STA is required for the Cygnus spacecraft due to the short duration of the mission and because of the need for frequency coordination among users of the applicable frequency bands.
This STA application is consistent with FCC/NTIA policies and is similar to STA applications submitted for previous Cygnus spacecraft.

Dwudziesta czwarta misja zaopatrzeniowa pojazdu Cygnus firmy Northrop Grummann do Międzynarodowej Stacji Kosmicznej, w tym dwunasta z drugiej fazy programu NASA CRS (ang. Commercial Resupply Services), którego celem jest wynoszenie towaru na ISS przez prywatne firmy. Na stację dostarczone zostaną zapasy, części zamienne i sprzęt do eksperymentów naukowych.

Po raz czwarty statek Cygnus został wystrzelony na szczycie rakiety Falcon 9. Jest to spowodowane faktem, że rakieta Antares 230+ firmy Northrop Grummann, która wcześniej była wykorzystywana podczas misji Cygnusa, została wycofana z użytku z powodu wojny na Ukrainie, jako że były w niej stosowane produkowane w Rosji silniki oraz produkowany na Ukrainie pierwszy stopień.

Nagel, z kompleksu startowego SLC-40 (Space Launch Complex 40) na Przylądku Canaveral na Florydzie, 11 kwietnia 2026 roku o godzinie 11:41 UTC (07:41 czasu lokalnego). NG-24 Cygnus XL dostarczy około 4989 kg (11 000 funtów) zaopatrzenia na Międzynarodową Stację Kosmiczną, a jego przechwycenie przez ramię robotyczne stacji zaplanowano na 13 kwietnia 2026 roku, około godziny 16:50 UTC (12:50 czasu lokalnego). Statek kosmiczny NG-24 Cygnus XL Cargo Delivery Spacecraft został nazwany na cześć byłego astronauty NASA Stevena R. Nagela, który odbył cztery misje wahadłowców kosmicznych, spędzając w kosmosie ponad 720 godzin. Po oddzieleniu się członów, pierwszy człon Falcona 9 wylądował w Strefie Lądowania 40 (LZ-40) na Przylądku Canaveral. Pierwszy człon Falcona 9 (B1094) wcześniej wystartował w misjach Starlink Ax-4, Crew-11, NG-23 i 3 misje Starlink.

To był 44 start SpaceX w tym roku, 4 start w kwietniu oraz 84 próba startu orbitalnego w 2026.

Kolejny transport zmierza do ISS
  11.04. o 11:41:21 z Cape Canaveral wystrzelona została RN Falcon-9R, która wyniosła na orbitę statek transportowy Cygnus NG-24.
Jego uchwycenie nastąpi 13.04.2026, następnie zostanie on przyłączony do ISS.
Pierwszy stopień RN (B1094.7) w T+8' wylądował na LZ-40.

NASA astronauts Jack Hathaway and Chris Williams will capture Cygnus XL using the station’s Canadarm2 robotic arm at approximately 12:50 p.m. After capture, the spacecraft will be installed on the Unity module’s Earth-facing port and will remain at the station until October. NASA will not provide live coverage of the spacecraft’s installation.

It has been a busy week since the arrival of our latest Cygnus cargo vehicle, S.S. Steven R. Nagel! We were just over the horizon from Florida (where it launched from on a Falcon 9 rocket); however, I was able to catch the rocket trail in this image, as well as the upper stage firing (the small dot in the upper-left)!
