Record-breaking NASA astronaut Christina Koch is returning to Earth after nearly a year in space

This evening, three astronauts will head home from the International Space Station, including one record-breaking crew member who just spent nearly a year in space. NASA astronaut Christina Koch is on her way back to Earth after setting the record for the longest continuous spaceflight by a woman and after completing the first all-female spacewalks in history.

Koch is traveling back with astronaut Luca Parmitano from the European Space Agency and Russian astronaut Aleksandr Skvortsov who have been living on the station since July. Tonight, the trio will climb into a Russian Soyuz capsule docked to the station and then make the three-hour journey home. (...)

February 12, 2020 — Six days after returning from her record-setting first space mission, NASA astronaut Christina Koch said that it took longer to adjust to life in orbit than it did to transition to being back on Earth.

Koch, who spent 328 days on the International Space Station setting a record for the longest single mission by a woman, said on Wednesday (Feb. 12) that she felt at home on board the orbiting laboratory just about a third of the way into her 11-month expedition. (...)

The strangest thing about coming back to Earth is what is easy and what is hard. I may be able to do more pull-ups than before flight, but standing with my eyes closed is still a challenge. Luckily my trainer understands that balance exercises in the sun is the best therapy!

Na ISS przebywały 28 dni.
Okazją była 50. rocznica misji Apollo 11.
Astronautka zaprezentowała jedną z dwóch monet w filmie nagranym dla Mennicy w 05.2019.
Zapewne z załogą A II polecą jakieś monety.

Et près de 7 ans plus tard, après avoir commémorer Apollo 11, Christina Koch s'envolera elle-même vers la Lune (et ça va vite approcher).

Deux pièces d'un 1/2 dollar commémorant les 50 ans d'Apollo 11 et émises par l'US Mint (monnaie américaine) ont volé dernièrement dans l'ISS avec Christina Koch
