Języka angielskiego nauczył się dopiero w wieku 12 lat.
Dopiero po wielu aplikacjach został przyjęty do NASA.

Podczas tej misji Kevin Anthony Ford został 500. osobą, która odbyła co najmniej lot orbitalny.
