Statek kosmiczny CRS-30 Dragon dostarczył ponad 2721 kg materiałów badawczych, zaopatrzenia dla załogi i sprzętu; wcześniej wspierał misje CRS-22, CRS-24 i CRS-27.

Była to 28. relokacja dla ISS.

Dragon Undocking Moves to 8:55 A.M. EDT Today

NASA’s live coverage continues as four crew members aboard the International Space Station take a short trip inside the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft to relocate from one docking port to another.

Following an initial, unexpected slow decrease in cabin pressure, delaying undocking, SpaceX determined that the cabin pressure trend is understood and nominal. Undocking is now scheduled for 8:55 a.m. EDT with redocking planned at 9:38 a.m.

MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/. Unburned structural elements of the Progress MS-25 space freighter that undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) to vacate its place for the next resupply ship splashed down in the Pacific Ocean, Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos reported on Tuesday.

"Today the Progress MS-25 cargo craft that had operated at the ISS for about six months deorbited, reentered the atmosphere and disintegrated. According to data of the Flight Control Center of the Central Machine-Building Research Institute (part of the State Corporation Roscosmos), the spacecraft’s unburned structural elements fell down into a non-navigable area in the southern Pacific Ocean," the Roscosmos press office said in a statement.

The Progress MS-25 space freighter arrived at the orbital outpost on December 3, 2023, delivering over 2.5 tons of cargo.

The Progress MS-25 cargo craft vacated its docking port for the Progress MS-27 resupply ship scheduled to blast off from the Baikonur cosmodrome on May 30 and dock with the ISS on June 1.

The Progress MS is a Russian automated cargo spacecraft developed specially for servicing orbital stations. It is used to deliver various cargo to the orbital outpost (propellant, scientific equipment, oxygen, potable water, food and other items), and also to adjust its orbit.

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. The Progress MS-27 resupply ship, which blasted off from the Baikonur spaceport on Thursday, docked to the International Space Station (ISS), a Roscosmos broadcast showed.

The space freighter has brought a 2,504 kg space delivery to the ISS, including 1,290 kg of equipment for the station’s systems, packages for scientific experiments, wear, food, medical and sanitary supplies for the Expedition 71 crew, as well as 754 kg of fuel, 420 kg of drinking water for cosmonauts and 40 kg of nitrogen to recharge stores to provide for atmosphere replenishment on the ISS.

The Progress MS-27 resupply ship also delivered birthday presents for cosmonauts: a T-shirt as a gift for the birthday of Russian cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, who will celebrate his 42nd birthday aboard the orbital outpost on July 15, and a box of handmade chocolates for Oleg Kononenko (TASS special correspondent on the ISS), who will turn 60 on June 21.

"We’re in a position where we have to store urine onboard station," NASA’s ISS Program Manager Dana Weigel said
NEW YORK, June 1. /TASS/. A urine processor assembly on the International Space Station (ISS) is out of order after a pump failure, NASA’s ISS Program Manager Dana Weigel told a press conference.

"We got surprised by an onboard anomaly this week on Wednesday morning (May 29 - TASS). Our urine processor assembly, or UPA, had a pump that failed. That urine processor takes all of the crew’s urine and processes in the first step of a water recovery system. It then sends it downstream to a water processor which turns it into drinking water. And so, the station is really designed to be closed loop and to have the urine processed continually all the way through down to drinking water. And so, with that process, [it’s] failed. We’re in a position where we have to store urine onboard station," she said.

Weigel explained, "We’ve got bags and tanks that we’ve got up there for this purpose, but we’ve got limited inventory." According to her, NASA expected that the pump that failed would "run until about the fall timeframe." So, a new pump is expected to be sent to the ISS by Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner spacecraft with astronauts on board, which launch is scheduled for June 1.

A replacement for this part was already scheduled to launch on the next Northrop Grumman Cygnus cargo mission in August, but the pump's unexpected failure has necessitated an expedited delivery, NASA officials announced on Friday.

With the imminent arrival of two new astronauts to the station — Wilmore and Williams on CFT — NASA made the decision to get the needed part on orbit ASAP. But a small sacrifice had to be made.

To maintain a consistent mass for Starliner's mission, cargo roughly equal in weight to the replacement part — about 140 pounds (64 kilograms) — needed to be removed. In this case, Wilmore's and Williams' luggage took the hit, leaving the pair without spare clothes once they reach the space station. Thankfully, they won't be entirely without a change of attire.

As Starliner began its approach to the space station, five reaction control system thrusters failed off during flight. Mission teams performed a series of hot-fire tests which re-enabled four of the thrusters while the crew manually piloted the spacecraft at the station’s 200-meter hold point. After re-selecting four of the thrusters, Starliner had the fault tolerance required to approach the space station for docking. At the 10-meter hold point, the mission team completed system readiness evaluations and proceeded with docking.

I tak przy okazji około północy było "coś dziwnego" na ISS - z początku brzmiało jak gdyby któryś z astronautów miał jakąś trudną sytuację zdrowotną związaną z "ekspozycją hipobaryczną" (czyli dekompresją). Później NASA poinformowała, że był to trening.
