Starlink Group 10-49 (Starlink-418) to kolejna misja podczas której na orbitę wyniesione zostały satelity budowanej przez SpaceX konstelacji Starlink.

W lutym 2023 roku SpaceX wprowadziło nową wersję satelitów, Starlink V2 Mini, o masie ok. 730 kg. Jest to mniejsza wersja mających ważyć około 1900 kg satelitów nazywanych obecnie Starlink V3 przeznaczonych do większych osłon ładunku rakiety Starship. Mniejszą wersję zaprojektowano tak, aby satelity mieściły się w osłonie ładunku rakiety Falcon 9. Satelity te są wyposażone w anteny o większej mocy oraz mogą dodatkowo pracować w pasmie E, co pozwoliło na około czterokrotne zwiększenie przepustowości w porównaniu do wersji V1.5. Znacząco usprawniono także system napędu. Są w nim wykorzystywane jonowe silniki Halla napędzane argonem, które w porównaniu do poprzedników mają ponad dwukrotnie wyższy ciąg i o połowę wyższy impuls właściwy. Jest to pierwszy w historii silnik zasilany argonem wykorzystywany w przestrzeni kosmicznej.

Na początku 2025 roku wprowadzono zoptymalizowaną wersję satelitów, Starlink V2 Mini Optimized, m.in. zastosowano nową antenę, ulepszono systemy awioniki, napędu i zasilania. Dzięki modyfikacjom masa pojedynczego satelity została zmniejszona do ok. 575 kg.

Na szczycie rakiety znalazło się 29 satelitów Starlink V2 Mini Optimized. Trafiły one na niską orbitę okołoziemską (LEO) o inklinacji 53°.

On Tuesday, August 25 at 5:33 a.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched 29 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

This was the 37th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission which previously launched CRS-22, Crew-3, Turksat 5B, Crew-4, CRS-25, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13G, SES O3B mPOWER-A, PSN SATRIA, Telkomsat Merah Putih 2, Galileo, Koreasat-6A, and now 26 Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage landed on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

That's not a UFO! A Falcon 9 rocket just launched the Starlink 10-49 mission from SLC-40 in Florida at 5:33:38 AM EDT. The rocket and its expanding exhaust plumes are being illuminated by the sun, which may produce lingering noctilucent clouds for some viewers.

Exactly. Have tried for a long time to get this type of photo of a rocket over NYC but it hasn't worked out. A clear sky and the timing of the launch is everything. The launch needs to be like it was today, about 45 to 55 minutes before sunrise for the glow to illuminate it.

This morning’s @SpaceX mission from pad 40 was the last planned Falcon 9 Starlink launch from Florida (and it launched on the fleet leading booster!!), marking the end of an era for these launches on the East Coast. From here on, Starlink missions out of Florida will fly on Starship. The West Coast team will continue regularly launching Starlink from Vandenberg.
 
Super proud of this incredible team. You’ve made Falcon 9 the most reliable launch vehicle in history. You also helped build the largest low-Earth orbit satellite constellation providing connectivity to millions around the world, and you’ve set the foundation for what’s next.
 
In the last seven years, Falcon has flown ~260 Starlink missions from the Cape… can’t wait until we launch that and many more with Starship!

SpaceX launches Starlink mission on a Falcon booster’s record-breaking 37th flight

(...) The Starlink 10-49 mission added another 29 broadband internet satellites to the company’s low Earth orbit constellation consisting of more than 11,000 spacecraft. It could be the last Starlink flight from Cape Canaveral for a while, with no further missions for the company’s internet service appearing on the near-term schedule.

So far this year, SpaceX has launched 44 out of 76 Starlink missions from its West Coast launch site at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The company’s Cape Canaveral workforce has been refocused on Starship preparations.

SpaceX’s flight-leading booster, tail number B1067, made its 37th mission after entering service in June 2021.

Nearly 8.5 minutes after liftoff, B1067 landed on the droneship, A Shortfall of Gravitas, positioned in the Atlantic Ocean. This was the 165th landing on this vessel and the 654th Falcon booster landing to date.
