No. I have been on numerous other submersibles. All I boarded have been certified and inspected. This was the worlds first, and likely the last, uncertified deep submersible to carry commercial passengers. This is the first crew fatality in the history of deep submersibles.

Rick,You make an interesting point, moving it to a long term parking orbit, may be as cheap as dumping it. Worthy of study, to be sure. Parking, meaning shut off, no maintenance costs. Saved for posterity.
