O astronauta Marcos Pontes (PSL), de Bauru, será o candidato a segundo suplente de senador na chapa liderada por Major Olímpio. O primeiro suplente será o empresário Alexandre Giordano, ambos da mesma legenda. A confirmação foi neste domingo (5), em convenção do partido em São Paulo, onde também foi oficializado que a cidade terá Luiz Carlos Valle candidato a deputado federal. (...)

It was an honor to present Col. Guion Bluford, of Westlake, with the Ohio Distinguished Service Medal today. Col. Bluford flew 144 combat missions in South Vietnam as a pilot in the @usairforce
 and was the first African American @NASA astronaut to travel to space in 1983.

Born in Moscow, Alexandrov flew aboard Soyuz T-9 & Soyuz TM-3. The latter was a long duration mission aboard Soviet space station Mir.
He is twice Hero of the  Soviet Union, and is currently the president of ASE-Russia.
