The MLP will travel to the pad with the help of undercarriage railcars and trackmobile machines that push the entire 1.9-million-pound (862,000kg) platform and Atlas V 551 rocket along tracks up the hill to the pad.

United Launch Alliance announces the arrival of our Atlas V rocket at its Cape Canaveral pad to launch Amazon Leo 5, currently planned for Sunday at 3:53 a.m. EDT (0753 UTC).

ULA will deliver 29 satellites into orbit for this fifth Amazon Leo mission, marking the largest and heaviest payload ever for the venerable rocket. Previous launches last year carried 27 spacecraft each.

The increase is a result of detailed work between ULA and Amazon, and is made possible by an extensive engineering and safety analysis that capitalized on the additional performance margin, adding a fourth level to the previous three-tier dispenser configuration for Atlas V.

United Launch Alliance has initiated the countdown for launch of the Atlas V rocket to deploy 29 advanced broadband satellites into space for Amazon Leo. Our overnight launch opportunity opens at exactly 1:45:30 a.m. EDT (0545:30 UTC) for liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The launch countdown is a tightly scripted sequence of procedures and steps over the next seven hours that will complete pre-launch testing, fill the rocket with propellants and put systems into flight mode.

United Launch Alliance has successfully completed today's launch of the Amazon Leo 5 mission by the Atlas V rocket! All 29 advanced broadband satellites have been released into low Earth orbit, marking the largest payload ever launched by the venerable rocket family.

Atlas V has delivered a total of 139 Amazon spacecraft into orbit through six successful flights -- Protoflight and five launches for the Leo constellation.

Next up, Leo 6 with another 29 satellites, is planned for April 27.
