(Mark Sowa/NASA)It took a while for the sound to get working as longtime astronaut Stephen Bowen spoke into the microphone. Bowen was prepping for an interview with GBH’s All Things Considered, and engineers, both at Mission Control and at the radio station, could be heard making fixes.
Bowen, a Massachusetts native, smiled and checked his microphone as he told Houston he was ready for the call.
A few minutes later, Bowen talked about viewing the Atlantic Ocean in orbit passing from above South America toward the African coast.
