Trening z wykorzystaniem VR
Zawieszona skrzynka jest praktycznie układem kół pasowych i małych silników, który umożliwia symulację przenoszenia dużych mas w stanie nieważkości.
Masy te ważą nawet kilkaset kg (na zdjęciu astronauta przesuwa sprzęt ważący prawie 800 kg).

Waarvoor kan deze zwevende doos, verbonden met al deze draden, worden gebruikt? Kleine aanwijzing: we zijn in het virtual reality-laboratorium van NASA 🕶.

Het is in feite een systeem met katrollen en kleine motoren dat het mogelijk maakt om het hanteren van grote massa's in gewichtloosheid te simuleren. Deze massa's wegen tot enkele honderden kg (op de foto verplaats ik apparatuur van bijna 800 kg 😊!) en hoewel ze niets 'wegen' in gewichtloosheid, kan het verplaatsen van deze massa's een kleine uitdaging zijn.

We hebben daarom een ​​aantal sessies om kennis te maken met deze manipulaties, naast de zwembadsessies waarbij we deze objecten ook manipuleren. In een zwembad zorgt de aanwezigheid van water ervoor dat massieve objecten moeilijk in beweging te brengen zijn, maar gemakkelijk te stoppen. En bij gewichtloosheid is het tegenovergestelde het geval, vandaar het belang van deze trainingen 😊.

✍️ Chroniques d'astronaute - Sunday Vibes 🎶

En ce dimanche je vous partage le début de ma dernière plongée. Comme expliqué lors d'un post précédent, nous pouvons écouter une chanson de notre choix pendant le "weigh out", l'équilibrage de notre scaphandre fait par les plongeurs du NBL.

Après Jacques Brel pour ma première plongée, j'ai cette fois choisi un groupe belge que je vous laisse découvrir.

3) Wśród ćwiczeń do wykonania (nurkowania trwają zazwyczaj sześć godzin!) jest także ratowanie członka załogi, który  nie będzie mógł już wejść do śluzy. Nazywa się to „ratowaniem załogi niezdolnej do pracy” lub ICR.

Podczas ostatniego nurkowania ICR astronauta współpracował z Sophie Adenot.
Film pokazuje fragment z początku ICR, w którym trwa zabezpieczanie Sophie przed zabraniem jej z powrotem do śluzy.

Les dernières images en scaphandre que j’ai partagées invitent à la flânerie, surtout quand on est bercés par Brel ou Hooverphonic 🎶 , mais les plongées sont en réalité intenses avec une longue liste d’exercices à réaliser (les plongées durent en général six heures!).

Parmi ces exercices il y a le sauvetage d’un équipier qui pour une raison ou une autre ne serait plus capable de rentrer au sas, on parle de « incapacitated crew rescue » ou ICR.

Lors de notre dernière plongée, nous avons travaillé cet exercice avec @Soph_astro et la vidéo montre un extrait du début de mon ICR où je sécurise Sophie avant de la ramener au sas. La bonne nouvelle est qu’on a tous les deux bien été secourus 🙂 .

- zajęcia fotograficzne/filmowe, w tym z użyciem kamery EVA;
- zajęcia z umiejętności medycznych: mierzenie parametrów życiowych (ciśnienie krwi, tętno, saturacja O2 itp.), zakładanie wenflonu, sprawdzanie błony bębenkowej itp. ;
- ćwiczenie podstawowych umiejętności medycznych, których mogą być użyteczne w przypadku wystąpienia problemu na pokładzie ISS. jak np. narażenie na CO2.

{Houston 🇺🇸} Training Weeks 19-20

📚 Woohoo, the evaluations went very well and since then, I also had many classes on the ISS systems…
🤿 … and the 5th NBL EVA training with the pressurised spacesuit.
📷 Here are some pics of the most unconventional classes of these past 2 weeks…
Just a precision: not all classes are such fun, many are spent in front of a computer!!!!
- 🎥 Photo/videos classes, including with the EVA camera.
- 💉 Medical skills classes: measuring vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, O2 saturation, etc.), starting an intravenous, checking an eardrum, etc. Basic medical skills we will need in case of a problem onboard the ISS.
- 💨 CO2 exposure: pilots train to detect hypoxia (lower O2), astronauts also train to detect for higher CO2 levels. It is important to know the first symptoms in case it happens in the suit or onboard the station. There was an awesome team of flight surgeons with me that day!

3) Przez cały tydzień astronauci były zajęcia z biologii, biologii grawitacyjnej lub fizyki promieniowania.
Codziennie po szkoleniu treningi fizyczne w Cosmos Gym.

A lo largo de la semana, también hemos recibido varias horas de clase sobre Biología, Biología Gravitacional o Física de la Radiación.
Y todos los días, después del estudio, sesiones de entrenamiento físico en el Cosmos Gym. Ya os lo mostraré mejor porque es una pasada 🏋️‍♀️

4) Astronauci odwiedzili także NBL, gdzie zdali pierwszy egzamin pływacki umożliwiający rozpoczęcie szkolenia nurkowego.

También visitamos la instalación de flotabilidad neutra (NBF), donde hemos pasado un primer examen de natación para empezar el entrenamiento de scuba. Esta piscina simula condiciones de ingravidez y los astronautas recibimos el entrenamiento inicial para caminatas espaciales.

5) Replika modułu Columbus, w którym astronauci będą ćwiczyć wykonywanie zadań w warunkach mikrograwitacji.

🛰️ Me quedé especialmente impresionada con la réplica del módulo Columbus de la Estación Espacial Internacional (ISS), donde practicaremos para realizar tareas en microgravedad. ¡Es increíble ver todo lo que implica vivir y trabajar en órbita!

6) Pierwszy tydzień szkolenia astronauci rozpoczęliśmy od zwiedzania obiektów.
W EAC astronauci eksperymentują z najnowocześniejszymi technologiami.
Każdy pokój, każdy symulator ma konkretny cel, aby przygotować astronautów do lotu kosmicznego.

🤗 La semana comenzó con una cálida bienvenida y un recorrido por las instalaciones; aquí no solo entrenamos, también investigamos y experimentamos con tecnología puntera. Cada sala, cada simulador, tiene un propósito específico para prepararnos y enfrentar los retos del espacio.

✍️ Chroniques d'astronaute - Se préparer à une plongée 👨‍🚀[NL👇]

Les plongées en scaphandre sont des moments forts mais ils demandent beaucoup de préparation (cf. image), je vous explique tout ça👇

Tout commence par un cours classique, appelé ‘1G’ dans le planning de l'image, où le programme de la plongée est exposé. Lors du 1G on nous donne aussi l’occasion de prendre en main les outils que nous allons utiliser 🪛🔧 : visseuse, multiplicateur de couple, connecteurs électriques et fluides, etc.

Ensuite, deux séances de préparation en binôme sont prévues. Nous discutons de l’organisation générale (qui fait quoi et quand, quel chemin on prend, quels sont les scénarios d’urgence, etc.) et on utilise une représentation 3D de la piscine pour mieux visualiser les sites de travail. On finit en général ces séances en répétant la “chorégraphie” de la plongée (“à ce moment je te donne la boîte à outils, puis je sors cet outil que je sécurise sur ce point de fixation, etc.”).

Enfin, nous faisons aussi une plongée de reconnaissance en combinaison classique 🤿 qui nous permet de repérer les sites de travail, d'identifier les meilleurs positionnements du corps et les meilleures voies de translation sur l’ISS.

Après tout ça -une bonne douzaine d’heures de travail donc, au minimum- on est en principe prêts pour le jour J🙂. Au fait, ma plongée de qualification finale aura lieu la semaine prochaine🤞🙃.

Planowane to jest z dużym wyprzedzeniem, ponieważ wszystkie przedmioty muszą zostać dokładnie sprawdzone, wszystkie komponenty przeanalizowane, a masa i objętość obliczone.
Bagaż astronautów jest wystrzeliwany w pojeździe transportowym kilka miesięcy przed rozpoczęciem ich misji kosmicznej.

{Houston 🇺🇸} Training Week 24

🧑‍🚀 Many things happened this week, but I would like to expand a bit more on the topic of the astronauts’ suitcases!
☑️ At about “Launch minus 15 months”, astronauts start “preparing” their suitcases, with the @NASA and Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) teams.

We plan that well in advance because all items have to be carefully reviewed, all components analysed, and mass & volume calculated. Meaning, you cannot bring “anything”. But it's important to be thorough because you can't step out to the store to buy that toothbrush you've forgotten to pack!!! Plus, postal services do not deliver in space 😂😂😂!

🚀 Astronauts’ suitcases are launched in a cargo vehicle a few months prior to their space missions…

🧑‍🚀 3 incredibly busy weeks… and I am so happy to share the very good news…
🤿 I have completed my 8th and 9th sessions of EVA training underwater, the 9th being the qualification…. And all went very well!!! Woohoo!
For these 2 runs, I was teamed up with @Astro_Pablo_A 🇪🇸 then @Raph_Astro🇧🇪, coached by @astro_luca 🇮🇹, and surrounded by an incredible team of divers and instructors! Thanks so much Miranda, Bridget, Jenny, Naomi, Reagan, Faruk, Luca and all the others… The list is too long to mention everyone involved!

🇪🇸¡Un momento inolvidable en mi camino hacia el espacio!

He completado mi certificación básica de EVA (Actividades Extravehiculares) en el Laboratorio de Flotabilidad Neutral (NBL) en Houston, junto a mi amigo y astronauta, Marco Sieber, de Suiza.

Flotar en la enorme piscina que simula la ingravidez del espacio fue tan desafiante como emocionante. Durante el entrenamiento, practicamos las habilidades necesarias para las caminatas espaciales, trabajando en réplicas de la Estación Espacial Internacional. Desde movimientos precisos con el voluminoso traje espacial hasta la resolución de problemas en pleno “espacio”, cada ejercicio fue una prueba de concentración, trabajo en equipo y resistencia.

¡Nunca dejen de ser curiosos y sigan soñando en grande!

Este tipo de entrenamiento me hace valorar aún más el increíble esfuerzo que la humanidad invierte para explorar más allá de nuestro planeta. Me siento agradecido de ser parte de este esfuerzo global. Marco y yo nos exigimos al máximo , y no podría haber pedido un mejor compañero de entrenamiento.
